What we collect

When you save a date, we store your email address, the name you enter for the person, the occasion and date, the interests you pick, and the gift you choose. When you click a gift link on our site or in an email, we record which gift and store you clicked and where the click came from (for example, the 14-day reminder). We don't ask for your address, phone number or payment details, and we don't sell your information.

How we use it

Only to send you the confirmation and reminder emails you asked for, and to understand which gifts and emails are useful. We don't send marketing emails beyond your reminders.

Services that process it for us

Vercel hosts the site, Supabase stores the database, and Resend delivers our emails. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the font loads. Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy.

Affiliate links and cookies

Gift links go through our redirect and on to the store. When you reach the store, the store or its affiliate network (such as Amazon, Sovrn, Impact, CJ or Awin) may set cookies so it can credit us with a commission if you buy. That doesn't change your price. Our own site doesn't set advertising cookies. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Your choices

Every email has an unsubscribe link, which turns off all reminders for your address. To have your saved dates and email deleted entirely, email getsurprisemenot@gmail.com and we'll delete them within 30 days.

Children

surprisemenot is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
